Raw opens with Dean Ambrose challenging Brock Lesnar to take him to Suplex City. Later on in the night, Triple H mocks Lesnar for getting soft. We’ll have to wait until WrestleMania to judge for ourselves.
Kalisto vs. Rusev
Three weeks from tonight, Kalisto will defend the US Championship vs. Alberto del Rio at Fastlane. Special guest commentator for this match is, no surprise, Alberto del Rio. Rusev is hard to play defense against but Kalisto uses his quickness to take the Bulgarian Brute out. Kalisto attempted a Tornado DDT but Rusev threw him into the mat, almost breaking the ring in half. The Luchador recovered and attempted a high-flying move off the top rope, only to be caught again. This time, Kalisto reverses a beat-down and kicks the Bulgarian brute into the steps. Winner by count out, Kalisto.
The Usos vs. The Social Outcasts (Adam Rose, Curtis Axel, and Heath Slater)
Tonight we learned the Usos are Grammy Award winners thanks to Lilian Garcia. Bo Dallas was also missing in action to mix some beats. Maybe he’s trying to win a Grammy. The Social Outcasts take control of the match by cheating. Slater mocks Jey, who was stuck in a headlock. Jey somehow escapes the tortuous hold and uses a big splash off the top rope to get the win.
Guest star on Miz TV is The Phenomenal A.J. Styles. The Miz proves once again that Miz TV means The Miz Show and interviews himself. Frustrated, Styles attacks The Miz- who runs away like a coward.
Brie Bella vs. Charlotte
Charlotte shows off with some handstands and pushups. Clearly she was mocking Brie’s sister, Nikki, who underwent successful neck surgery. Brie kicks Charlotte but the Diva’s Champ sends Brie out of the ring. Ric Flair distracts the ref to no avail. Brie seized the opportunity by jumping on Charlotte with a sleeper hold. Charlotte went for the kill with a Figure 8, but Brie reverses it for the win.
Big Show vs. Erick Rowan
The Wyatt Family is out for blood. Braun Strowman greeted the Big Show after his chokeslam victory. What happens next was an absolute decimating of the giant. The Wyatt Family annihilated The World’s Largest Athlete by slamming him spine first into the steel steps. Pure armageddon.
Titus O’Neil vs. Tyler Breeze
Don’t let nicknames like Prince Pretty, King of Cute, or The Gorgeous One fool you. Tyler proved to be tenacious the entire match even when Titus overpowered him. Prince Pretty countered a high-flying move but, Titus sent Breeze flying across the ring. Tyler then tried to drag Titus across the ring but the feat proved impossible. O’Neil has enough and delivers a punch that almost knocks Tyler’s head off. Titus wins with Clash of the Titus.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens dominated the match from the beginning by tossing Ziggler into the announcer’s table and by sending Dolph face first into the corner ropes. Ziggler could have lost a row of teeth the way he collided. The ref could even been heard asking if Ziggler wanted to end the match. KO promised the next move for Michael Cole but Dolph uses the opportunity to attack Owens. Dolph found a way to pull out a win despite all the punishment KO inflicted on him with the Zig Zag. Dolph celebrated with the live audience. Kevin Owens threw a temper tantrum and destroyed the commentator’s table.
Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch
Naomi and Tamina join Sasha Banks in the ring. Tension builds as the ladies agree to a truce since Sasha decided to venture on her own. Sasha and Becky are both quick on their feet, trying to out-do each other for the cover. Becky finds herself tangled in the ropes. Sasha jumps on her midsection then kicks Lynch off the apron. Naomi and Tamina team up on Becky but Sasha breaks it up. A shoving match ensues between the former alliance. Suddenly Naomi and Tamina gang up on Sasha causing a disqualification. Keep a watch for a new alliance between Becky and Sasha.
The New Day vs. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose
The New Day shame The Rock for foul language that belongs on Jerry Springer. They predict a win and arrogantly pre-celebrate. Paul Heyman joins as a guest commentator, which means Brock Lesnar is lurking somewhere in the arena.
Dean Ambrose proves he belongs in an insane asylum by encouraging Kofi to continue chest slapping him. Dean’s laughing, he enjoys it.
Big E, now in the ring, spears Dean in the corner. Langston performs an abdominal stretch on Ambrose and slaps his rear end to the tune of “New Day Rocks.”
Roman avenges Dean by suplexing Big E. The crowd disapproves. Recovered, Big E slams Roman through the announcer’s table. Dean seals the win with a Dirty Deeds.
As suspected, Brock Lesnar makes an appearance, allowing The New Day to ambush Roman and Dean. Brock F5’s Dean, proving he hasn’t gone soft. Guess we didn’t have to wait for WrestleMania after all.
